The name Cisitalia derives from "Consorzio Industriale Sportive Italia," the conglomerate formed by the Cisitalia's creator, Piero Dusio, who was responsible for the 202, his stunning road-going sports car. Because of its low weight and excellent aerodynamics, the 202 had good performance. The styling came from Pinin Farina, and it stands as a timeless bridge between pre- and post-war sports car design. The unified design smoothly links the bonnet, fenders, cabin and boot into a single organic shape. Coupe versions of the 202 were the first produced. A cabriolet followed.

When first presented to the public at the Villa d'Este Gold Cup show in Como, Italy, and at the 1947 Paris Automobile Show, the Cisitalia 202 GT was a resounding success. The two-seater Cisitalia 202 GT was an aesthetic and technical achievement that transformed postwar automobile body design.
Building on aerodynamic studies developed for racing cars, the Cisitalia offers one of the most accomplished examples of coachwork conceived as a single shell. The hood, body, fenders and headlights are integral to the continuously flowing surface, rather than added on. There are almost no sharp edges. Swellings and depressions maintain the overall flow and unity, creating a sense of speed.

The 202 body production by Pinin Farina soon shifted over to Stabilimenti Farina and, to a lesser extent, Vignale. Both built the 202 to Battista Farina's original design, although there are some differences in details and proportions.

I of course love the subject matter but you deal with it in an energetic and respectful manner.
